10 things never to tell me...

Thanks to MSN.com I found this lovely little list.

The 10 Things Never to Say to a Working Mom.

Those who know me know I hate working. I don't have my job, I hate working. I hate being away from my kids. I hate that I see my co-workers more than my kids.
It's honestly the worst.

Behold, the list

10 Things Never to Say to a Working Mom

Mom bloggers sound off on the worst things to say to a career woman with kids.

1. It must be hard missing all those special moments every day.

2. I suppose it's smart that you're working. You know, in case your husband leaves you some day.

3. I'm surprised you went back to work. Your husband seems so successful.

4. It's cute when they call your nanny "Mama."

5. I just love my kids too much to leave them during the day.

6. Did you see Dateline? The one with the hidden camera in the day care?

7. I could never let someone else raise my children. But that's just me!

8. I hated my mom because she was never home after school like everyone else's mom.

9. You must feel so guilty.

10. I wish I were as laid-back as you and could just let the housework go.

I know I won't work forever. I honestly just have to right now. Life happens, lawyers happen and other stuff that unfortunately requires money. Let's be real. I have to work to pay the bills right now and get my husband through school. One day I will get to stay home....one day.  But until that day, please don't say this crap to me.

rub-a-dub-dub...

Bath time...
my little chubbs loves it.
Every time I grab a towel, he hightails it to the bathroom and literally tries to climb in the tub. Clothes on or off makes no difference to him. He tries to climb in even during the speedy process of me undressing him.

I love it too.

It's the one time I can get this kid to sit still for more than 30 seconds. I'm not even kidding. He is constantly on the move.

This morning, after I was fixed Munchkins hair for school (which took me about 20 seconds), I walked out into the kitchen and there was Mr. Chubbs sitting on the table with a box of cereal in his lap, grabbing cereal by the handful. He saw us come out, and got this big smile on his face that said, "Ha. You can't get mad at me! Look at how cute I am." He is right. I did make him get off the table, but sent him on his way with a bag of cereal for him and him alone.

Then of course Munchkin had to have a bag too.

MCP Project 12

I have joined in the MCP Project 12.

"Project 12 gives photographers the opportunity to take more photos, be creative and have fun. Hobbyist and professional photographers can join us by capturing images based on our monthly themes and share with the MCP community."

This month's theme is
LOVE.

After I took this picture, I knew it would fit perfectly. I have posted this photo before, but I just love it. My five year old son won a trophy at the state wrestling tournament and was beyond ecstatic. He truly loves his trophy.
The next morning he had found a box, gathered up all his medals and his coveted trophy and sat in the box with them so that his little brother couldn't get to them.  He carried that trophy with him everywhere for days.

State Tourney...

At the first of the month, Munchkin man had a wrestling tournament. Not just any tournament, but the state wrestling tournament. I think I may have been more nervous than Munchkin. This was a double elimination tournament with only one division. Every tournament we had been to before had an intermediate and a beginners group. Munchkin was always in the beginners group since he had only been wrestling for a matter of months. And yes, there are five year olds who have been wrestling for several years, who would have thought?!
The night before his tournament I explained that he may only get to wrestle two times because of the way the tournament was set up. He ended up getting to wrestle five times and had a blast the entire time.

Munchkin won his first two matches then lost his last three

Checking in at the table.

Getting some tips from one of his wrestling coaches.

Getting ready to do the Parade of Champions

Ready for the medal round.

Wrestling for fifth or sixth place.
He made friends with this little kid. It was so cute. After they got off the main stage (from above pic) I walked around to go get him and he was walking with this kid, who he was about to wrestle, holding his hand just in their own little world. It was too cute!  We had ended up sitting by this family most of the time as they wrestled on the same mat.

Chubbs being such a sport after a long day of wrestling. We go there about 4pm and didn't get done until 11pm! So flippin' long. We were all ready to go.

Munchkin got sixth place out of twenty and he was ecstatic. We were so proud of him. He never cried when he lost and always remembered to go shake the coaches hand after each match. So impressed with my little guy.

I couldn't get him to just hold out his trophy to take a picture. All he wanted to do was to hold it. He asked me later that night if he could sleep with it.

The next day he was sitting in a box (since we just moved into a new house, we have a ton around still) with all his medals and trophy from wrestling. He was just so pleased with how well he did at his tournament, as were we.

what white stuff?

My boys were so excited to go play out in the snow that we had several weeks ago. It really hasn't snowed much this winter, so they couldn't wait to go outside.

Well, I guess I should clarify. They were both excited to go play in the snow, but after being outside for about two minutes Chubbs decided he wasn't impressed and just whined until I took him inside.
So he spent the next little while just watching Munchkin play in the snow.

Get air...

My (and by my I mean Hubster) cousin's husband is a manager at "Get Air". It is basically a huge room with lots of trampolines. This one is by far my favorite, because they have a kids sections and tramps that bend, but it is all one tramp, not two pushed up together.

Chubbs tackling his brother.

This type of picture is a must at any trampoline place.

Remember those tramps that bend I was talking about? They were great for sliding down. Chubbs especially loved it.

Building a wall to jump over.

Munchkin had a blast.

friday...

Friday. Finally.
It's been a long week, and I'm sure you want to hear about. Or maybe you really don't.

Just wanted to leave you with a pic of my awesome, awesome family.

way past due...

I had every intention of using the month of January to post all about Christmas and obviously that didn't happen. So I'm just going to give you the highlights of our holiday season and then move on...

Chubbs favorite present. His pillow pet from his brother.

Munchkins favorite present...walkie talkies from Santa.

Christmas eve in our new pj's.

While my parents were in town we got to go to lunch with almost all his sisters and his mom and her husband.

Four generations

Then we went to look at the lights in Ogden.
It was a little cold, so Chubbs was all bundled up.

Last time Muchkin gets to see gma and gpa for a while.

In the elevator at the Joseph Smith building while taking some family pictures.

We did manage to get Christmas cards made this year and printed off. However, only a handful of the people I meant to get them actually them because we bought a house and the other envelope of the pictures got put in a box that I have yet to find. I apologize to my friends and family who didn't get one!
