Happy Birthday Munchkin Man!

And they grow up....

This handsome kid turned seven in March...seven! When I married Jesse he was only two and half. It is crazy to think how fast time has flown. Every year I make something for the birthday boy to wear with the number of his birthday. He loves this and had been thinking about what he wanted well in advance of his birthday. His request this year was obviously a shirt. (Freezer paper stencil and shirt from Target)

FLASHBACK: Years three (iron ons that I made on our computer, shirt from Walmart), four (crown made from felt), five (freezer paper stencil of Porter's silhouette holding up five fingers) and six (a hat custom made from Lids).

Dinner request: Pizza...so we went to the Pizza Factory.

Cake request: Ninja turtles. Yes, I made one in each color.

Happy Birthday

A little while ago (and no, I'm going to tell you how little of a while) my sister had her 25th birthday!

We had a little party in my backyard, but I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of the great decorations! I'm so bummed. Oh well.
It was still fun and she had lots of friends come out and wish her Happy Birthday!

Not to be confused with a Snuggie.

The next day, on her actual birthday, we found her car at church and did a little decorating. She unfortunately was outside, so we didn't do as much as we would have liked. Oh well!

The Party

I didn't get as great of pictures as I should have, but we sure had a good time.

The Birthday Boy

Some of the treats

Chubbs and one of the cute neighbor girls who just loves him.

Singing Happy Birthday!

Loving the cake

His pants got a little dirty after eating his cake. Plus his chubby legs are so cute!

Pulling the pinata to break it...much safer...and easier. And tricky me, tied up the string that pulled the bottom out in hopes that all the kids would get a turn and pull the long ones first.

Totally worked! We got down to the very last ribbon.

Hubster's sweet new blanket.

 Clever

THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all those friends and family who came, visited and spoiled my boys. THANK YOU!!

And a very unflattering picture of me...
Shirt: H&M ($5). Pants: Gap. Belt: Downeast ($5). Shoes: Express (free with coupon). Chubbs shirt: H&M ($7ish).

Birthday Day...

We celebrated Muchkin's Birthday, on the Saturday before his actual Birthday. It was "Birthday Day".
On Birthday Day, Munchkin is the king. He gets to do just about whatever he wants (within reason of course).

We were leaving my basketball game Saturday afternoon to go home and get ready for his party. He wanted to climb over Chubbs seat into his and Hubster didn't want him too. I let him, because it was Birthday Day!
"It's Birthday Day Dad, he can climb over the seat."
(side note: I don't believe in overruling Hubster unless a discussion first ensues. Then I overrule him...kidding.)
Munckin got a big smile on his face, "Yeah, it's Birthday Day", and climbed on over the seat to his.

A few times throughout the day this happened, and we let him have his way without much discussion. Then he was getting in the shower and Hubster was about to wash his hair when I overhear this conversation from the bathroom:
Munchkin - "But Dad, I don't want to wash my hair!"
Hubster - "You have to wash your hair. You were running around sweating today"
M - "No. I don't want to"
H - "Too bad. If you want to go to your party you need to wash your hair."
M - "But Dad..."
H - "Munchkin. I'm sorry. You have to wash your hair."
M - "But Dad..."
H - "You have to wash your hair."
M - "BUT IT'S BIRTHDAY DAY!!"

I start laughing and so does Hubster even though he was frustrated. Since I had deemed the day as this, I figured it was my fault that he was using this is an excuse. I went into the bathroom and told him that he got to choose some things he wanted to do on his birthday, but he had to wash his hair.
Dejected and knowing he wasn't getting out of it, he muttered a small "ok".
I made a cake. Or a attempted to make one.
I let Munchkin choose what he wants to do for his birthday.

Do you want a party with friends or family?
Family
What do you want to want to do for your birthday?
Go to Boondocks.
What kind of cake do you want?
Umm...a lego cake.

So that is what we did...

5 years old. I told him to hold up the #5...he was double excited, so you get ten. And I made that shirt using freezer paper. Super easy!
 Love this picture...

Munchkin wasn't too excited about the quick photoshoot until I told him he could makes faces and jump.

And can't forget Chubbs
