awkward & awesome thursday...

Top: Munchkin's face paint from school, our stolen spider we put inside our neighbors house after they stole it from our roof. Chubbs relaxing after a tough night of trick-or-treating.
Middle: Items I found in our sub-woofer that Chubbs dropped in through the front. Chubbs trying out his car seat. Munchkin at his first wrestling meet (he did great!).
Bottom: Where I found Chubbs after I got him out of the bath and was grabbing him pajamas and a diaper. Tree on my walk from my car to my office. Chubbs in his new winter hat.

Awkward
- Going to dinner with some buddies to celebrate a birthday of one of them...getting a reservation...then being sat...at two different tables. Oh thanks seating lady! We really wanted to sit at two different tables, not all together so we can all talk and catch up. Thank you.
- Our staff meeting at work. I can't even begin to explain, but if you want to know, just call me and I'll tell you.
- Walking towards someone along a really long sidewalk, then thinking, "When do I look up and make eye contact? Do I do it twice if I do it too soon? Do I pretend I didn't really see them the first time, but then if they see me as I'm looking away, then I look back again when I get closer and they don't look up am I being rude? Should I smile if I look up more than once?"

Awesome
- Meeting Kaylee from the Biggest Loser, Season 11. Apparently she works at Texas Roadhouse close to where I live. I wanted to take a picture with her, but my sister said it was dorky, so I didn't. Sorry.
- Chubbs dancing and walking backwards. Seriously the cutest/funniest thing ever.
- Munchkin going to wrestling camp and a tournament. He did really well having never wrestled before and really having no idea what he was doing!
- Book club

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

October according to my iPhone.
Top: Hubster's picture he changed as my background, as I promptly changed back to a pic of my boys; Thriller @ WSU...awesome; Chubbs trying a lime.
Middle: View from the pumpkin patch; the boys enjoying bath time; a wreath a made for halloween.
Bottom: Boys going for a ride at the pumpkin patch; Chubbs getting ready for halloween; Chubbs as a chubby dinosaur.

Awkward
- Let's go with super awkward on this one...had a guy come into my office fresh out of jail. I know him by name and over the years tried to have as few interactions with him as possible.
For over an hour, I heard him tell stories about his stint in jail...wow. Apparently he...
  - shared a cell with the Mitchell guy from the Elizabeth Smart case
  - was in jail at one point with Michael Vick, some Piston basketball players, and some chinese guy from Goonies
Then he told us:
 - how light bulbs can used to cut someone up.
 - way too much information on his experience in prison.
 - how he is stuck in the state for 15 years on parole.

Then (as a married man) gave a lady I work with two kisses on the cheek with very inappropriate hugging.  I knew this guy when I was in school and he was always inappropriately flirting with girls. Gah. Certainly not someone I ever wanted to run into again.

Wow. Wish you could have been there, but at the same really glad nobody else was.

Awesome
 - Fall colors. Granted they aren't nearly as pretty or vibrant as they are back east, but I still enjoy them.
- pumpkin patches. Just fun.
- Finding an enormous blow up spider in my garage (from years and years ago) and putting it in my front yard (specifically for my neighbor...well, and Munchkin. He thinks it's pretty cool.)
- Seeing Chubbs learn new words
- short hair. Seriously takes me like two minutes to fix
- My twin brother's getting their mission calls...almost. They are supposedly in the mail.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

I'm not sure what THIS event would be categorized under, probably neither.
But my little hometown of Zanesville, Ohio made it into the headlines.
I am super sad that all those animals had to be killed, but fully agree with the decision on the Muskingum County law enforcement in their actions.
Boo to you Terry Thompson for being the sole reason all those animals died.

Awkward
- Losing my car in the parking lot. This happens too often.
- Hubster's phone sending text messages to random people in his phone
- Seeing a sheriff badge duct taped to the podium and the Muskingum County Sheriff gave a press release. I mean, really? Someone couldn't have made a little loop and stuck it on the back?
- Scooting myself along a big metal gate to avoid stepping in the mud in 4" wedge heels for family pictures. Then climbing over the fence. Although I made it, so I guess that is awesome.
- Feeding Chubbs one morning, half asleep and then realizing he did in fact manage to leak out of his diaper and pee on my lap. Good morning to me.

Awesome
- These videos (one, two and three) made by two of my buddies for the Weber State University campus stores
- Pumpkin patches
- Hot chocolate...or Ho Choch and my old roomies and I used to say it
- While driving to work, seeing a super old lady (like in her 80's) walking down the street with hot pink Skullcandy headphones.
- My little bro's turning their mission papers in!
- My little man, Chubbs, turned ONE!! Holy crap!
- And the Hubster had a bday too.!

Awkward & Awesome Friday

I know I normally do my Awkward & Awesome post on Thursdays (when I do get around to doing it), but today you get it Friday.

Awkward
- having my shirt come unbuttoned at some point during my short trip to the mall. I noticed at the back of payless, hopefully I was the only one who did.
- while at payless, having to get Chubbs THESE SHOES because they were the only ones that fit.
- a girl who I see several times a week, walking around campus barefoot. I mean, all the time, everywhere. And no, she doesn't have any problems with her back or feet. I asked before I made my face of disgust.  I mean, I'm not that rude.
- Chubbs eating it on a step, and getting a nice scrape on his head a few days before family pictures.
- Trying to find "skunk friend" for Munchkin at 3am, in the dark under his bed, then having him tell me a few minutes later he found it next to him.

Awesome
- New Girl. The show, on FOX. Yeah, I love it.
- Short hair. It's great.
- My neighbor for taking time out of her hectic schedule to trim up the back of my hair so I didn't have a rat tail.
- Pandora...until I hit my monthly free listening limit
- Coaching my soccer team, it's awesome.
- Having a boy on my soccer team out of the blue tell me that he was a Utes fan, and was so excited when I told him I was as well.
- Vegas a few weekends ago with Hubster. I would load my pictures, but blogger is only letting me upload one at a time. lame.
- When Chubbs says "Uh-oh". It's seriously the cutest thing ever.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday...

It was brought to my attention (thank you Katelyn and Hubster) that is has been a while since I posted an Awkward and Awesome post.

Awkward
- The Buff headband. My mom bought a few. As you can see, everyone wanted a turn wearing one.
- Having to keep Chubbs from hitting, or pulling down a large projector screen about 274 times during the Utah vs. BYU game...at a friends house. This required getting up and down from our seats just as many times.
- Trying to figure out why people stare nervously at my brother and I when we are together...oh yeah, I know, it goes like this, "No. We aren't married. This is my brother. Yes, we look a lot a like. And this is my child, not ours."
-About eating it as I walked down the steps at my house, then having Munchkin say, "Walk much Mom?" (so the second part was awesome)
- Pulling up to the bank in the very first stall, closest to the window and totally going over the curb. Thank you sweet lady at the bank for pretending not to notice. I think it might have been less awkward if you had, then I could have at least made a joke about it.

Awesome
- seeing my little soccer team of excited five years old score goals and just run their hearts out.
- Utah vs. BYU football game...enough said.
- Chubbs walking ev-er-y-wh-ere.
- I bought Munckin some skinny jeans while I was in Vegas for my anniversary (yes, I will post pictures soon), and by some I mean four pair. Yes, four, and I should have bought more. After showing them to Munchkin and later getting him ready for bed he asks, "Mom, can I wear my skinny jeans to bed?" Man, I love this kid.
- Munchkin not wanting to wear his above mentioned jeans in red until the day the Utes played. I mean, this kid is too awesome.
- Meeting Matisyahu - and getting my brother sweet seats for his performance.

- Swimming and Chubbs loving the water
- HOT weather...finally.
- My hair fitting into a ponytail
- Hubster driving by sprinklers and scaring me to death and getting me a little wet while I wasn't paying attention
-After dropping my sister off at the airport so she can go to Costa Rica for a month (we will pretend I'm not jealous at all)...and then staying behind an extra 20 minutes so I can see a handful of returned missionaries come home! Such a great thing!

These are from when my sister Abby got home from her mission. I was a wreck waiting for her!

 (awesome cont.)

         Chubbs silly face                                                   Texas airport

 My gorgeous boys

Awkward
- Dropping Chubbs off at the sitters, then having my car to decide to not reverse. I had to get out and push the car in high heels. Luckily I parked on the inclined part of the driveway so it made it easier...and I'm pretty sure only one person saw me.
- A girl saying she wished she still permed her hair because she could throw it in a scrunchie and go and it looked great.
- Stupid people.
-Having an older man comment a little too much on my physique

Awkward & Awesome Thursday...

I have been busy. Sorry. Sometimes life gets in the way of blogging. Wait. No...I was busy with life, my kids, my husband, my family. They always come first.

My boys relaxing in the sun.
Photobucket

We stopped on our walk to play soccer with the neighbor kid for a few minutes.

Hopefully with these pictures of a rare, sunny, warm day we had this month it will inspire Mother Nature to pull back on this rain and let the sun shine.

Akward & Awesome May Day...

Ok, so it's not actually May Day. I obviously missed that one. But I did take these on May Day, does that count?

I had a nice little place in mind to get some pictures of my cute family, but when I got there, some stinkers were already. The area was too small to share, and I'm sure I would have looked silly with my tripod and nifty little remote control trying to get Chubbs to look at a boring black camera. Yeah. Great idea.

We made it work with the terrible lighting and super short attention span/patience level of the boys (all three), and I will go through the pictures again and see if I can find a half way decent one of our family together.

Photobucket
Hubster: Yellow Shirt: Express ($10). Sweater: Express ($20). Pants: Old Navy ($6). Shoes: No idea...

Photobucket
Chubbs: Green Top: Children's Place ($4). Plaid top: Children's Place ($6). Bottoms: Gap, Kid to Kid, ($5).
Munckin: White Polo: Old Navy ($3). Sweater: Children's Place ($10ish). Pants: Children's Place (Gift). Shoes: Target ($12).

Photobucket
Me: Blazer: Gap ($20). Red Top: Thrifted ($4). Necklace: Dillards ($10ish). Belt: DownEast Outfitters ($4). Jeans: Old Navy ($6). Shoes: BCBG, TJMaxx? ($30ish).
They were way to busy looking at each other and laughing to hold still and smile...but who cares, this is way cuter.
Photobucket

Is he not the cutest five year old ever?

Awkward/Annoying
- the bruise and large bump on my thigh from my soccer game.
- Hubster realizing his khakis (pictured above) are fleece lined.
- Trying to carry Chubbs in his stroller down about 4 flights of stairs...and back up.
- Neighbors dogs barking from 9pm-1am.
- People who are surprised when you show up when you tell them you will and they don't have their stuff ready or together

Awesome
- After dressing Munchkin in his pants above he says, "Man. I wore these back in the 80's!....Was I alive in the 80's?"
- Chubbs getting his first tooth and handling it like a champ
- Warm weather...finally.
- Munchkin telling me that he does in fact now want me to buy him more clothes. He always asks if I have a surprise for him when I get home and when I do and it's clothes he is normally disappointed, it's not nearly as exciting as toys.
- Having a 15 minutes conversation with Munchkin about Jesus Christ, Resurrection and angels. And he had such great questions.
- Getting visits at works from my family.

Post Edit:
The Royal Wedding happened...everything was amazing. I mean, a girl really became a princess. Pretty sweet. I loved this dress...

Awkward & Awesome Thursday...or Friday...

I'm a day late...yada, yada. Go ahead and get after me. I have been swamped at work and when I'm home with the kiddos they have my full attention. So, I'm sorry, but not really.
Awkward and AwesomeMunckin put these on Chubbs head and didn't say anything, when we came back in the room Hubster and I about died laughing. It's nice to have those good-hard-belly-shakin' laughs every now and then.

Photobucket

Awkward
- Looking for where I parked my car while a good portion of the university's football team is walking through the same same lot.
- Having some of them men I work with stare at me trying to figure out what is different about me.
- Trying to keep a straight face (and not pee my pants in terror) as a guy comes into my office with hair and facial hair past his shoulders, draped in a blue cloak, with his hands hidden underneath telling me he wants to complain about an advertisement.
- Going to sleep the same time as Hubster, then in the morning telling me there is a plate of brownies on the counter that were not there when we went to bed
- Knowing certain event have occurred thanks to facebook and blogs

Awkward & Awesome Thursday...

Awkward
- Going to a completely empty bathroom except the girl breast pumping on the couch in the bathroom. It gets really quiet, then she calls her mom and talks to her in Spanish (where is my spanish speaking sister when I need her?), and I'm sure it was about that encounter.
- Having a nice indent in my hair from taking off the stretchy headband I wore.
- Getting a "Nice boo_s" from a guy walking by me. I sure hope that letter I couldn't understand was a T...
- When people talk about how much money they or don't have (i'm the latter)
- Seeing someone you know in the car next to you, waving and saying hi. Then passing them again...and again...and again (do I keep waving? ignore them? I'm not sure what the etiquette is on this)
- Grown women in pigtails
-  Getting yelled at for trying to steal the basketball during a church tournament game
-

Awesome
- Wearing my rainboots and getting to splash in some puddles
- Ponytails
- Seeing Picaboo Street at work
- Birthdays. Esp for five years olds.
- Beating said team by a lot in church basketball game
- Scoring free food at work
- My hot-chocolate-makin'-machine. Thank you to whomever gifted us this for a wedding present.
- Chubbs sleeping through the night (this has been happening for several months now, but it's still awesome)

Awkward and Awesome
- Accidentally buying a pink razor scooter for my Munchkin. The picture on the box totally looks like it was of a red one. He thought it was funny, but still wanted the red one

(stolen from The Daybook
